SES’s multi-orbit capabilities

SES’s GEO HTS (high throughput satellite) assets provide global coverage and enable complete Ku-band services leveraging flexible spot-beam technology.

O3b is SES’s satellite constellation in Medium Earth orbit (MEO), delivering services since 2014. It Is designed to provide high-throughput, low-latency broadband connectivity to remote locations.

With the launch of O3b mPOWER, the second-generation MEO constellation, SES’s capabilities will further expand to deliver unprecedented throughput, scalability and flexibility for commercial and government customer.

O3b mPOWER

O3b mPOWER is the only satellite communications system that can scale reliably and dynamically from tens to thousands of megabits per second per service. The overall O3b mPOWER system capacity reaches terabit-level scale – so that connectivity can scale in lockstep with evolving, even unpredictable, growth in demand.

Designed to incorporate high-volume digital payloads, SES’s latest-generation MEO satellites form the O3b mPOWER system. Each spacecraft can cast virtually countless electronically steerable beams, directed and switched in near real-time to deploy uncontended services at throughputs ranging from tens of megabits to multiple gigabits per second per service. Orbiting at an 8,000km, MEO altitude enables the constellation to guarantee low-latency data transfer with coverage between ±50° latitude – serving 96% of the world’s population.

O3b mPOWER’s Customer Edge Terminals (CETs) are essential building blocks of the system’s ground infrastructure. Available in various form factors, these CETs support fixed and mobile operations, managed networking, and edge computing capabilities. The system is compatible with steerable phased-array terminals and conventional mechanically steered parabolic antennas. With managed and customer-located gateways and the ability to interface with flexible network topologies, traffic can be directed seamlessly across the endpoints.

Get SAT's Milli Ka terminals

Air, land, and sea mobile on-the-move connectivity with SES’s MEO

Get SAT’s Milli SAT Ka mobile terminals are part of Get SAT’s market-leading family of small form factor, lightweight, and fully integrated mobile terminals. These terminals can be easily deployed on any mobile platform and are optimized for mobile applications. The significant aspect of using a Get SAT terminal with an O3b network is being able to deploy only one terminal (rather than two) thanks to the minimal handover between the satellites.
